ABOUT US
North Queensland (NQ) Osteopathic Clinic has been operating at its current location since 1994. There are currently six osteopaths that are working in the clinic; from osteopaths with over thirty years of experience to newer graduates. All practitioners regularly participate in continued professional development so that they are up to date with current evidence-based research. The NQ Osteopathic Clinic is open from Monday to Saturday, with appointments available before and after work hours to cater to all patients’ lifestyles.
Here at this clinic, osteopathy is not restricted to one group of people. It is appropriate for people of all ages (from babies to the elderly), pregnant ladies, and athletes to desk workers. If you are unsure if osteopathy is suited for you, just call the clinic and one of our osteopaths will be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
Using a combination of traditional and modern healthcare philosophies, osteopaths generally use non-invasive forms of therapy like muscle soft-tissue work, joint mobilisation or manipulation, stretching, and exercises, combined with education and advice to support the body's natural healing processes.
The osteopathic approach to treatment is to focus on your body’s natural tendency toward health and self-healing. Your osteopathic consultation contains the assessment of the region of pain or concern as well as the surrounding regions to ensure a more accurate diagnosis and treatment. This follows the osteopathic principle that the body functions as a unit; not one area or system works in isolation.
